The least read page of any website, but here in case someone's bored enough to glance at it.

I'm Mickey Mortimer, an amateur paleontologist who holds a Bachelors of Science in Earth and Space Science: Biology Option from the University of Washington. I study coelurosaurian phylogeny in particular, though I'm interested in other dinosaurs and zoological phylogeny in general. I am responsible for the maniraptoromorph analysis in Hartman et al.'s (2019) description of Hesperornithoides, and hope to expand that analysis to other ornithodirans and more crown Aves in the future.  Other research interests include establishing an objective resource for theropod character scores, increasing awareness of the lack of thorough scoring in many phylogenetic analyses, advocating a lumper-style approach to Mesozoic dinosaur taxonomy with emphasis on individual variation, and defending a theory of nomenclature that values the principle of priority over specimen completeness.
